I like Dr. Makres personally but as for a pediatrician for my kids, I felt as if he is a little ready to get out of the game. Not that he doesn't know his stuff but it's always so packed there and I've felt rushed which makes the visit feel less thorough. Not to mention waiting room times are ridiculous. But in their decense, they do always tell you to come in if your child needs to. I like that they have separate "well child" areas so your kids don't come in for a physical and leave with the flu. The office is a little....hmm, snobby I guess is the word. To put it bluntly. I would be too if I had to deal with hundreds of crying kids and TennCare type parents- and I am one so I can say that. I'm just not part of the moms screaming at 5 dirty kids smelling like cigs and on their phones the entire time. Still yet- I suggest Dr. Mitoraj. Although the Nurse Practicioner at Makres' was pretty darn good too- Mitoraj is great and his NP is as well. Very thorough. No offence to Makres, he's good- I think it's the other circumstances that make the visits there sort of nerve wrecking. IMO.
I would highly recommend Bristol Pediatrics!
We have been going to Dr. Makres for several years now. Sometimes the wait is long, but it is for good reason....they truly care about your child and will spend the necessary time it takes to make sure they feel like a patient that they care about instead of just a number on a page.
There are two doctors that we have seen over the years: Dr. Makres and Nancy Shisler (CFNP) and they are both extremely great with children and have been willing to take our calls at all hours of the night in times of dire need (even those crazy moments you have as new parents where you just need reassurance).
Great group of doctors. Always reachable even on the weekends.
I love Dr. Markes. Best pediatrician around but his staff at the desk are rude everytime I go in there and spend most of there time talking so it takes forever to get checked in.
The staff there acts like they are better than you are and are very disrespectful individuals. I would not recommend anyone go here unless you want to be talked down to and treated as if you are of no importance.
