Man I had a great time camping at sugar hollow. I had deer walk right up to my tent and it was wonderful. I would suggest bringing a mat or air mattress since all the sites are gravel.

Camped here overnight in October. This is a hidden gem. So close to anything you could need such as dining out or shopping but still deep in the woods. Wow. For trailer campers you have electricity, cable TV, WiFi, and water. Some of the gravel pads could use some work but overall, great location. Rangers are nice and park is gated. Many trailer campers were in the back of the park (spots 34 through 60). There are also primitive camp sites. Some folks were in tents and cars just chilling out and watching TV. Plenty of trails to walk. People hanging out in the woods reading and enjoying the quiet solace. Talked to a few regulars and they stated that in the spring and summer this place cannot be beat for birds and other creatures. In particular we were told about the beautiful wood ducks that visit here. This is a must stop if traveling through and for $20 a night it is a bargain.

Sugar Hollow is a great place to walk!! Does anyone realize this park is in Jeopardy of having a Rock Quarry adjacent to the park and there will be daily mine operations with blasting, dust, diesel fuel and 50-75 trucks coming in and out daily? PLEASE COME VOICE YOUR OPPOSITION TUESDAY NOVEMBER 28, AT 6:30 p.m. 2017 AT 1 Government Center Place, Suite A, Abingdon, VA. Come to back of building and to speak sign up!!!! This fight is not over and we need others to speak up in opposition. Thank you!

Walking trails, ball parks playgrounds. There is a nice nature trail, several creeks and a large camping area. Camping facilities are nice with showers and clean bathrooms powered with fire pits and tables. The sites are a little pricey though at $20 a night.

Great hiking, and bike trails. Really nice playground for younger and older children. Some ball fields, a creek and a dog park. Also have camping grounds. Really great place for whatever event. I had a friend get married here. My family loves this park.
